a) Your contract is with SC Rentals Ltd, trading as Self Catered Saint Martin, and these booking conditions apply to your reservation.
b) The group leader (referred to in these conditions as “the client”) is responsible, on behalf of all members of the group, for all matters relating to the booking and for ensuring that all monies due from the group are paid. The group leader is the person named as such on the booking confirmation.
c) A contract between the client and SC Rentals Ltd will come into existence once the required deposit or full payment has been received and the booking has been confirmed by us. By completing the booking process and making the required payment, the client confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
d) Where payment is made by telephone, a contract will come into existence once the relevant credit or debit card payment for the deposit or full holiday price has been successfully processed. Written confirmation will subsequently be sent by email.
e) When you receive your booking confirmation or invoice, you are responsible for checking all details carefully. If there are any discrepancies, please notify us within 5 days of issue. Otherwise, we will assume the details shown are correct. Special requests are guaranteed only where confirmed by us in writing.
f) If the group leader changes before the start of the holiday, SC Rentals Ltd must be notified by the original group leader by email or telephone.
g) The group leader is responsible for providing all information reasonably required for the booking, including guest names and travel information, through the online booking area no later than 3 weeks before arrival.
h) Only guests included within the booking may stay at the booked property unless additional guests have been agreed in advance by SC Rentals Ltd. Failure to comply may result in termination of the booking and the group being required to leave the property. No compensation will be payable in such circumstances.
a) A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total booking price is required to secure your reservation. Where a booking is made within the period when the full balance is already due, full payment will be required.
b) Bookings and quotations are normally issued in euros (EUR). Where a sterling price is requested, any GBP equivalent may vary according to the applicable exchange rate. SC Rentals Ltd is not responsible for currency conversion charges, international transaction fees or other charges imposed by your bank or card provider.
c) Where accommodation is requested without payment of the required deposit, the accommodation is not secured. SC Rentals Ltd therefore reserves the right to accept another booking for the same accommodation and dates until the required payment has been received.
d) Confirmation of the booking and receipt of the deposit will normally be sent by email.
e) The remaining balance is due 10 weeks before your arrival date, as shown on your invoice.
f) If the balance has not been received by the due date, we may issue a notice requesting payment.
g) If payment remains outstanding for 7 days following that notice, SC Rentals Ltd reserves the right to cancel the reservation. In such circumstances, the booking deposit will be forfeited.
h) The price of a confirmed booking will not be increased because of subsequent changes to the advertised price of unsold accommodation.
i) Security deposit
A refundable security deposit is required for self-catered bookings. The amount varies according to the property and will be communicated to you before arrival.
Unless otherwise agreed, the security deposit will normally be arranged as a temporary pre-authorisation on a payment card shortly before your stay. A pre-authorisation reserves the relevant amount against the card's available balance but is not normally taken as a payment at that stage.
The security deposit may be used towards the cost of damage, breakages, missing items, excessive cleaning, unpaid charges or other losses arising from the occupation of the property by you or your group. Any damage or breakage, whether accidental or otherwise, should be reported to SC Rentals Ltd as soon as possible.
After departure, the property will be checked. Where no deductions are required, SC Rentals Ltd will release or cancel the pre-authorisation. The time taken for the reserved funds to become fully available again is determined by the relevant card network and card issuer and is outside the control of SC Rentals Ltd.
Where a deduction is required, we will provide details of the amount concerned. If the cost of damage, loss, additional cleaning or other amounts properly due exceeds the value of the security deposit, the client remains liable for the outstanding balance.
If you wish to cancel your booking, the client must notify SC Rentals Ltd and confirm the cancellation request by email to info@sc-stmartin.com. The effective date of cancellation will be the date on which the written cancellation request is received.
If the client cancels the booking, the following cancellation charges apply:
Bookings may not be transferred to another third party without our agreement.
Where a booking is cancelled by the client and circumstances allow, SC Rentals Ltd may, at its discretion, attempt to re-rent the accommodation. Where this is successful, a refund or partial refund may be offered after deduction of any applicable administration costs or losses. No refund is due where a stay has already commenced and is curtailed by the client.
If SC Rentals Ltd is required to cancel your holiday, we will, where reasonably possible, offer alternative accommodation of a similar or higher standard without additional charge. Where suitable alternative accommodation cannot be provided, payments made to SC Rentals Ltd for the cancelled accommodation will be refunded.
We strongly recommend that all members of your group obtain appropriate travel insurance, including suitable winter-sports cover where applicable, from the date of booking until the end of the holiday.
Appropriate cover should include, where relevant:
SC Rentals Ltd will not be responsible for losses which could reasonably have been covered by appropriate travel insurance.
Accommodation may be booked well in advance of arrival and, although we take reasonable care to ensure that the accommodation and services provided correspond with their description, changes may occasionally occur.
Where a significant change affects your booking, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible and, where appropriate, offer a suitable alternative or refund.
SC Rentals Ltd cannot accept liability or pay compensation where we are prevented from performing our contractual obligations because of circumstances outside our reasonable control (“force majeure”).
Such circumstances may include, without limitation, war or threat of war, riot, civil disturbance, terrorism, industrial disputes, natural disasters, avalanches, volcanic activity, epidemics or other health risks, fire, failures of transport or infrastructure, airport or border closures, severe weather, governmental action and similar events outside our reasonable control.
a) SC Rentals Ltd cannot be held responsible for delays experienced while travelling to the resort, including where those delays reduce the duration of your stay.
b) Guests undertaking sporting, recreational or other activities do so subject to the inherent risks associated with those activities. Where activities are provided by a third-party supplier, the supplier's own terms and conditions will apply.
c) Properties may contain facilities such as Wi-Fi, televisions, audio equipment, hot tubs, saunas and other technology. While we will make reasonable efforts to rectify faults promptly, temporary failure of such facilities does not automatically give rise to compensation or a refund.
a) It is the client's responsibility to ensure that passports, visas, vaccinations, certificates and other travel or health documentation required for the trip are valid and in order.
b) The accommodation is for the use of the guests included within the booking. Subletting, sharing or assignment without prior permission is prohibited.
c) Guests are responsible for taking reasonable precautions for their own safety and belongings. SC Rentals Ltd cannot accept responsibility for loss of personal possessions except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
d) Guests are expected to behave reasonably and with respect for the property, neighbouring residents and other guests. Serious or repeated breaches of these Terms & Conditions may result in termination of the stay.
e) Smoking is strictly prohibited inside all properties unless expressly stated otherwise.
f) Pets are not permitted unless permission has been specifically requested and granted in advance.
Where a pet is accepted, the following rules apply:
g) Our properties cannot be made completely child-proof. Parents and guardians remain responsible for the supervision, behaviour, safety and wellbeing of children in their group at all times.
Cots, high chairs, stair gates or other children's equipment may be available on request, but parents or guardians remain responsible for their safe use.
Childcare is not provided directly by SC Rentals Ltd. Where we recommend a childcare provider, that provider operates as an independent third party.
We take reasonable care to ensure that information published on our website is accurate. Resort information, lift operations, local services and other information supplied by third parties may change without notice and cannot be guaranteed.
Unless otherwise agreed, accommodation is available from 5:00pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 9:00am on the day of departure.
A charge of €250 may apply where a property is not vacated by the agreed departure time, except where a later departure has been agreed with SC Rentals Ltd in advance.
The property will be prepared and cleaned for your arrival. If you are dissatisfied with the standard of cleaning on arrival, please contact SC Rentals Ltd immediately so that we have the opportunity to rectify the issue.
Before departure, guests are required to:
Additional cleaning costs may be charged where the property is left in an unreasonable condition or requires cleaning beyond the normal end-of-stay service.
Specialist cleaning or repair required because of staining, spills, damage or misuse may also be deducted from the security deposit. Please report significant spills or damage as soon as possible so that appropriate action can be taken.
Unless otherwise stated in your booking confirmation, the accommodation price includes:
Tourist tax and optional additional services are not included unless specifically stated in your booking confirmation.
a) Outdoor shoes, ski boots and snowboard boots must not be worn inside the main living areas of the property.
b) Skis, snowboards, boots, bicycles, sledges and similar outdoor equipment must be kept in the boot room, garage or other designated storage area.
c) Heated towel rails are intended for towels only. Wet ski clothing, swimwear or other garments should not be placed on them where this could cause staining or damage.
d) Wet clothing must not be placed directly on radiators or radiator covers.
e) Fires and stoves must be used responsibly and must not be overloaded or obstructed. Clothing and other objects must not be dried immediately beside or on fires or stoves.
f) Hot tubs, swimming pools and saunas are used at guests' own risk. Children must be appropriately supervised at all times.
Guests must follow any safety and hygiene rules provided for such facilities. Glass must not be taken into or around hot tubs or swimming pools. SC Rentals Ltd may temporarily close a facility where necessary for safety, maintenance, water quality or because of misuse.

Where SC Rentals Ltd helps arrange services supplied by third parties, including ski passes, airport transfers, ski school, ski hire, catering or other services, your contract for that service may be directly with the relevant supplier.
Where we act only as an agent, we are not responsible for the acts or omissions of the third-party supplier or for the performance of its services. The supplier's own terms and conditions will apply and should be reviewed before booking.
